Care Guide
Excellent pest and disease resistance
Agapanthus are generally pest and disease free. They can be attractive to slugs if there are no plants more attractive (like Lupins or Hostas) to them nearby. To deter slugs, it is important to keep the area around the plant debris free and as dry as possible, especially at night as slugs and snails love damp conditions. You can use barriers such as egg shells or copper wire to surround the plant to prevent slugs and snails reaching the leaves.MORE
Water regularly
Water regularly in the lead up to the flowering season, throughout May and June.
Full sun to partial shade
Agapanthus flowers best with 6-8 hours of sunlight per day, but will also be fine in partial shade.
Any fertile, well-drained soil
Agapanthus will thrive in any soil type except for dry sand. Mix in compost or well rotted manure for the best results.
Feed in Summer
Feed with a high potassium fertiliser every two weeks in Summer ?v=1613300718
