Care Guide
Good pest and disease resistance
Can be affected by Escallonia Leaf Spot - to avoid this, feed regularly and water during prolonged dry spells. Escallonia Leaf Spot is a purple/black fungus which causes leaves to turn yellow and drop. Dispose of affected leaves and cut back plants hard to stimulate new growth.
Water regularly
Will need watering during dry spells.
Full sun to partial shade
Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot away from cold, drying winds. Can be wall-trained.
Any moist, well-drained soil
Escallonia can thrive in a variety of soils as long as they're well-draining. If your soil is particularly clay-heavy and/or gets waterlogged often then consider mixing in plenty of organic matter such as garden compost and possibly some perlite to improve drainage.
Feed in spring
Feed weekly with a general purpose fertiliser during the spring. ?v=1613300718
