Frogbit

Frogbit resembles a mini water lily that floats on the water surface, producing fast-growing runner stems. Frogbit belongs to the Hydrocharis genus, with rounded waxy leaves and white three petalled flowers that bloom in summer. This aquatic perennial should be grown in deep water where its overwintering buds are protected from freezing. Frogbit creates an excellent covering for pond wildlife, protecting fish from herons and shading the pond from sunlight. Plant with Water Lilies or Iris for a diverse and colourful pond.
