Care Guide
Average pest and disease resistance
May be targeted by slugs and snails - Keep the area around the plant debris free and as dry as possible, especially at night as slugs and snails love damp conditions. You can use barriers such as crushed egg shells, grit or copper wire to surround the plant - these will prevent slugs and snails from reaching the leaves.
Full sun to partial shade
Hostas grow best in a position where they'll get some morning sunlight and afternoon shade
Any average well-drained soil
Plant in any well-drained soil. If your soil is particularly poor or clay heavy, add some garden compost with perlite to improve drainage.
Prune lightly
Hostas are very low maintenance when it comes to pruning! If you see any dead, diseased or damaged leaves you can remove them, and remove finished flower stems in the autumn if you wish.
