Care Guide
Excellent Pest and Disease Resistance
Generally, this variety has no issues with pests or diseases. APhids can be attracted to Salvia, in which case pick them off and then spray the infested area down with soapy water.MORE
Water Lightly
Water to keep the ground consistently moist during the plant's first year as it is establishing itself. This can require watering several times a week during hot and dry periods. Once the plant has established itself it will be far more drought tolerant.
Full Sun
Plant somewhere the plant will receive around 6-8 hours of direct sunlight every day.
Any Average, Well-Drained Soil
Salvias do well in any average, well-drained soil. If your soil is particularly clay-heavy and/or often becomes waterlogged then you can improve the drainage by adding in plenty of organic matter such as garden compost as well as some perlite or gravel.
Not Required
Don't worry, this isn't a hungry plant so your food bills won't be going up!
