Care Guide

Good Pest and Disease Resistance

Iberis tend to be generally disease free. They can, however, have issues with Slugs and Snails. For Slugs and Snails, it is important to keep the area around the plant debris free and as dry as possible, especially at night as slugs and snails love damp conditions. You can use barriers such as egg shells or copper wire to surround the plant to prevent slugs and snails reaching the leaves. It is also a good idea to spray your plant with water which has boiled some garlic in it for around 2 hours. For more serious slug and snail control you can also use specific nematodes that will find the pests and cause them to die.MORE

Light Watering

Iberis' are fairly drought tolerant plants and prefer drier conditions as opposed to being waterlogged. Therefore they only need watering in very prolonged dry periods in summer if they begin to look distressed. Once established they tend not to need any watering at all in Spring, Winter and Autumn.MORE

Full Sun to Partial Shade

This variety can grow in areas of moderate sunlight, including around 4-6 hours of dappled sunlight in partial shade but will also grow in full sun.MORE

Any Average, Well-Drained Soil

Iberis do well in any average, well-drained soil. If your soil is particularly clay-heavy and/or often becomes waterlogged then you can improve the drainage by adding in plenty of organic matter such as garden compost as well as some perlite or gravel.MORE
