Care Guide

Good Pest and Disease Resistance

Achillea can have issues with Aphids and Powdery Mildew. To prevent Powdery Mildew you should try to prevent crowded and humid conditions. Properly space plants apart and get rid of any weeds. Water at the soil and try to prevent soil splashing from the soil onto the leaves. To combat Aphids you can pick away the bugs with your hands and also wash the infested areas down with soapy water.MORE

Water regularly in summer

Achillea thrive in moist soil so you must ensure the ground does not dry out. During hot and dry periods this could require you having to water the plant as much as once a day in mid-summer.MORE

Full Sun to Partial Shade

Plant in full sun or an area of bright, partial shade–somewhere it should receive around at least 4 hours of sunlight every day in summer.MORE

Any fertile, well drained soil

If your soil is particularly clay heavy and gets waterlogged often, make sure you mix in plenty of organic matter and perhaps even gravel or perlite to help improve drainage. Make sure your Achilleas don't become waterlogged.MORE

Feeding not required

There is no need to feed Achillea plants.MORE

Prune lightly

Deadhead the plant regularly in summer to promote continuous blooms. You can cut back old foliage in Spring.MORE
