Care Guide

Excellent pest and disease resistance

Generally Cistus Creticus is trouble free when it comes to pests and diseases.MORE

Water lightly

To begin with, water the plant lightly, especially during dry periods. Once the roots have established, however, Cistus needs very little watering except in prolonged very dry periods.MORE

Full Sun

Cistus Creticus needs a sheltered position in full Sun for the best flower production.MORE

Fertile well-drained soil

Will prefer well-drained soil that is also fertile. Mix in plenty of organic matter such as quality garden compost along with perlite if your soil is particularly clay-heavy or waterlogged. Avoid very alkaline soils which will give the plant a nutrient deficiency.MORE

Feed lightly

Apply a general purpose liquid feed after flowering but avoid nitrogen rich fertilisers.MORE

Prune lightly

After flowering, pinch back young plants to encourage a bushy habit. Lightly trim or cut back to maintain the plant's shape.MORE
