Gift card

These gift card terms apply to pounds sterling gift cards purchased online through the Roots Plants website. Only one gift card may be used per order and any remaining balance will remain on the card for future use. Gift card balances cannot be exchanged for cash or redeemed against the purchase of another card. Gift cards do not expire.

We love every time we see our products on social media and sometimes we may request to share these pictures/videos in our channels via a comment on your post. We will ask for approval to share/use your content on our channels in this comment. The shared photos are published primarily on the respective product page on our website to give other customers a glimpse of their real-life uses. They may in some cases also be published in one of our other channels, for example on Instagram, Facebook, paid ads and email newsletters.

By responding to our request with the hashtag #yesRootsPlants, you agree to the following:

You provide Roots Plants UK, a non-exclusive, royalty-free worldwide license to use any pictures you have responded with #YesRootsPlants, hereinafter referred to as "picture", in their marketing and / or advertising, including inter alia the right to reproduce, distribute, alter and edit your photos. You also agree to waive your right to be named in connection with your picture when displayed in our newsletter. 

Hereby certify and certify that (i) you are at least 18 years old, (ii) you own all of your rights to your pictures, (iii) you have been granted permission from any person appearing in your pictures to transfer the rights herein, and (iiii) the use of your pictures by Roots Plants UK will not violate any third party's rights or violate any law.

Hereby, you release Roots Plants UK from all obligations to pay you for the use of your pictures and freeing and agreeing to keep Roots Plants and all persons acting for Roots Plants UK from all claims (including claims from third party), liabilities, irrespective of nature, in connection with the use of the pictures as described above.

As a result of the substantial amount of Content we receive, we cannot guarantee that we shall use your Content. We may but are under no obligation to use any Content submitted by you.

BY RESPONDING TO OUR REQUEST WITH #YESROOTSPLANTS YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD ALL OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, YOU CONFIRM THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND YOU PROVIDE ROOTS PLANTS UK WITH YOUR ABSOLUTE AND UNCONDITIONAL CONSENT AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ALLOWING ROOTSPLANTS TO PUBLICIZE AND DISPLAY YOUR NAME, AND OTHER (PERSONAL) DATA AS SET OUT ABOVE.

If you want to withdraw consent to share your pictures with Roots Plants UK, you have to contact us by clicking on the "i"-icon in the lower left corner in your shared image published on our website. The icon will link you to a form where you can submit your request to withdraw your consent.

Social media giveaway terms & conditions

• For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, "The Promoter" refers to Roots Plants whose Instagram handle is @rootsplantsuk. The "Prize" refers to either one (1) £250 voucher for Roots Plants or one (1) £10 voucher for Roots Plants. There are ten (10) £10 Roots Plants vouchers available to win, selected winners are only eligible to win one prize or voucher each.
• By entering the competition you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. All entries must be received by 10am on 19/04/2024. One (1) winner in Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland) will be selected at random by The Promoter to win one (1) £250 voucher, and ten (10) winners will be selected to win one (1) £10 voucher each. Winners will be selected on 19/04/2024 and the winners will be notified on or after this date.
• The Promoter’s competitions with entry via Instagram are open only to residents of Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland). Eleven (11) winners will be chosen at random from all entrants and across all platforms.
• No purchase necessary. Winners will not be required to pay to enter the competition.
• Entrants must be over 18 years old on the date of their entry.
• Employees of The Promoter are not eligible to enter.
• Instagram or Facebook are not in any way affiliated or involved in the competition.
• Only one entry per person per competition will be accepted.
• Each entrant shall enter the competition via Instagram by following the Instagram profile: @rootsplantsuk
• The Prize will be awarded to a randomly selected winner who has entered on Instagram, using a random number generator. The Promoter will not be held liable if the named prize becomes unavailable or cannot be fulfilled.
• The Promoter will not be held liable for any failure of receipt of entries. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any entries which are lost, delayed, illegible, corrupted, damaged, incomplete or otherwise invalid.
• To the extent permitted by applicable law, The Promoter’s liability under or in connection with the competition or these terms and conditions shall be limited to the cost price of the Prize in question.
• To the extent permitted by applicable law, The Promoter shall not be liable under or in connection with these terms and conditions, the competition or any Prize for any indirect, special or consequential cost, expense, loss or damage suffered by a participant even if such cost, expense, loss or damage was reasonably foreseeable or might reasonably have been contemplated by the participant and the promoter and whether arising from breach of contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise.
• Prizes are non-negotiable, non-transferable and non-refundable. No cash alternative is available. Where a Prize becomes unavailable for any reason, the promoter reserves the right to substitute that prize for a prize of equal or higher value.
• Winners will be notified via Instagram direct message. The name, address, email address and phone number of the winner must be provided to The Promoter if requested and will be shared to enable fulfilment of the Prize.​
• In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond The Promoter’s reasonable control, the promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition or these terms and conditions, either in whole or in part, with or without notice.
• The Promoter's decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
• The winner’s name and social media username may be posted on the social media profiles of The Promoter after the winner has been selected. Permission will be requested from the winner beforehand.
