Care Guide

Good pest and disease resistance

Has been bred for excellent disease resistance. The biggest problem, as with most soft fruit, is that they are so delicious that local wildlife will want to eat them too. Grow in a polytunnel or use a fruit net to keep birds off.MORE

Water regularly in summer

Wherever possible, water your blueberry bushes with rainwater. Tap water will raise the pH level and blueberries prefer acidic conditions.MORE

Full sun

Position in full sun (6+ hours per day or sunlight) for flower and fruit production.MORE

Light, free-draining acidic soils

Blueberries need an acidic soil. If you are planting in pots this is easy - just use an ericaceous compost.MORE

Feed annually

Blueberries need minimal feeding other than yearly sprinkles of organic matter in late winter. Avoid overfeeding, as blueberries are sensitive to high fertiliser levels.MORE

Prune annually

Prune during the dormant season (November to March)MORE
