- Think your garden is too small for a cherry blossom? The slender form of 'Amanogawa' makes it possible! Growing to 4m high and just 1m wide, it's ideal for small spaces or planting in rows.
- Spring is when the magic happens and every inch of the narrow, upswept branches is packed with fluffy pink, semi-double flowers with a delicate, sweet fragrance.
- The fresh jade-green foliage transforms in autumn to a fiery display of bright reds and oranges before falling and revealing the elegant silhouette of bare branches.
- 'Amanogawa' is pollution-tolerant and happy in most soils, making it a great choice for urban areas and streetside planting. It also boasts the RHS Award of Garden Merit (which will come as a surprise to absolutely nobody).
- 'Amanogawa' means 'river of the sky' in Japanese. The 'Amanogawa' cherry blossoms originally grew along the banks of the Arakara River that flows through Saitama Province and Tokyo, in Japan.
- Our mature trees are grown in Air-Pots®, the only type of pot to completely eliminate root circling. A unique design stimulates air pruning for a mass of healthy fibrous roots, which results in a healthy tree that will establish quickly in your garden. With each Air-Pot® made to last up to 20 years, we reuse them on the nursery and wrap your mature tree in hessian for delivery - but if you’d rather keep your tree potted, simply add an Air-Pot® to your basket along with your tree.

Good pest and disease resistance
May need protection from caterpillars and leaf-mining moths. Cherry trees are sometimes affected by silver leaf, bacterial canker and blossom wilt.
Water regularly when establishing
Give your tree a regular watering for the first one or two growing seasons to help it establish. Water during hot, dry spells thereafter.
Full sun
Like most cherry trees, this cherry loves full sunshine (at least six hours per day) and a sheltered location.
Any moist, well-draining soil (except chalk)
Adapts to clay, loamy and sandy soil provided that it stays moist but well-drained.
Feed each spring
In early spring each year, apply some general, slow-release fertiliser around the base of the tree.
