Description
- One of the great things about evergreen flowering shrubs is that the foliage acts as a good backdrop, a canvas of sorts against which the flowers can come to the fore. 'Doctor King' dazzles with its pink, yellow and glossy green colour palette, producing flowers throughout spring from March until May.
- The flowers have somewhat ruffled petals and are typically single to semi-double in nature.
- Perfect for beds, borders and even large patio containers, this camellia appreciates a partially-shaded spot, and will look brilliant planted as part of a Japanese-style or woodland planting scheme, featuring alongside heucheras, hostas and ferns.
- Easy to grow and low-maintenance, this camellia adds instant impact to the garden without demanding too much of your, no doubt already-stretched, time.
- An ericaceous plant, 'Doctor King' should be planted in either acidic or neutral soil, and planted in ericaceous compost if growing in a pot.

How To Grow

Water well when establishing
Keep your camellia well-watered throughout the first couple of growing seasons to help it establish, and during hot, dry spells.
Partial shade
Best growth will occur in dappled shade, sheltered from early morning sun.
Acidic or neutral, moist, well-drained soil
Camellias are ericaceous plants, and so prefer a fertile, well-drained soil that skews on the acidic side.
Feed in spring
An application of ericaceous fertiliser in early spring will help give your camellia a boost throughout the growing season.

How do I know I'm getting quality plants?

When will I get my plants?
The delivery timescale for each plant is on the web page (near the 'add to basket's button). You'll receive a dispatch email with an exact delivery date once your plants are on their way, so you can get the garden ready.
How will my plants be packed and delivered?
We send all of our orders through a courier network designed to handle plants. Specialist equipment ensures that no plants will be damaged during the packing process and every order is carefully finished and checked by plant-loving humans. Your plants will arrive in the most sustainable packaging possible with minimal to no plastic used.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver to anywhere in Mainland UK for our standard delivery cost. We are able to deliver most plants to Highlands and non UK mainland however this will be at an additional cost. This will be calculated at the checkout. Please note, deliveries to these locations will take longer. Unfortunately, we are not able to deliver to Northern Ireland at present.
