- This incredibly floriferous clematis variety bears myriad cross-shaped, scented blooms throughout the summer, and though the flowers are only relatively small, they definitely make a big impact when covering the vine!
- The flowers' heady fragrance boasts notes of vanilla and almond, with comparisons to the smell of hawthorn not at all uncommon
- Vigorous in nature, this deciduous clematis (which reaches up to 6m in height) makes the perfect adornment for a sad, drab fence or wall
- Please Note: Our climbers are pruned back each winter, and some during the summer, so you may find at certain times of year they do not cover the whole 90cm cane. This is intentional to ensure the best growth when you plant out

How To Grow
Good pest and disease resistance
Any appearance of aphids or capsid bugs can be dealt with by wiping them away from the leaves, or spraying the affected area with soapy water.
Water well when estabishing
Water your clematis regularly throughout its first growing season, particularly during hot, dry spells. Once established, your plant won't need too much additional watering (except for, again, in hot, dry conditions).
Full sun to partial shade
The vines of clematis plants typically like full sun, aiming for a minimum of 6 hours of sunlight every day. By contrast, their roots and crown prefer shady conditions to help keep them cool. Gravel, mulch and shade cloths can help with this.
Any fertile, moist, well-drained soil
Clematis plants like 'Rubromarginata' tend to grow well in any soil type, providing it's both moist and well-drained. If your soil is heavy, clay-based or poor from a fertility perspective, then mixing in some organic compost when planting can be beneficial.
Feed every spring
In early spring - or towards the end of winter - feed your clematis with a high-potassium fertiliser, then give it a mulch with some garden compost or well-rotted leaf mould. If you're growing your clematis in a container, give it a monthly feed throughout the growing season with a liquid feed.

When will I get my plants?
The delivery timescale for each plant is on the web page (near the 'add to basket's button). You'll receive a dispatch email with an exact delivery date once your plants are on their way, so you can get the garden ready.
How will my plants be packed and delivered?
We send all of our orders through a courier network designed to handle plants. Specialist equipment ensures that no plants will be damaged during the packing process and every order is carefully finished and checked by plant-loving humans. Your plants will arrive in the most sustainable packaging possible with minimal to no plastic used.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver to anywhere in Mainland UK for our standard delivery cost. We are able to deliver most plants to Highlands and non UK mainland however this will be at an additional cost. This will be calculated at the checkout. Please note, deliveries to these locations will take longer. Unfortunately, we are not able to deliver to Northern Ireland at present.
