- Few shrubs can claim to have such long-flowering or showy blooms as crepe myrtle. Sporting its flower panicles in shades of purple, pink and white from the start of summer through to early autumn, this spectacular shrub deserves a starring role in every garden.
- Alongside the fabulous flowers this shrub boasts stunning foliage; bronze when young, the deciduous leaves turn green in summer before adopting fiery orange and red shades come the autumn months.
- With each bloom up to 20cm long, this shrub is a brilliant choice for the cutting garden. Pair the flowers with some lush green ferns for a super chic bouquet.
- The bark beneath the flowers and foliage is tactile and peeling, adding another string to this plant's already-impressive bow.
- This plant gets its name from the crêpe-like texture of its flowers, which look somewhat wrinkled and scrunched up.
