Description

  • With a heritage dating back to Germany in the mid-20th century, 'Dornfelder' is a much-loved (and highly-respected) grape, both for dessert purposes and wine-making.
  • Its large bunches of delicious black grapes reliably appear in large numbers each year, boasting not only exceptional taste but also a strong resistance to common grape problems (like botrytis bunch rot).
  • Ripening in the middle of autumn, this vine (which can be grown both outdoors and indoors) sports vibrant leaf colour towards the end of the year, dazzling with red and orange shades.
  • Use your 'Dornfelder' grapes for a healthy, mid-morning snack, the basis for a scrumptious clafoutis, or if you're feeling adventurous, to try your hand at making homemade wine.
  • Incredibly easy to grow, plant your grape vine in a sunny spot in well-drained soil, then complete the Mediterranean look by planting alongside citrus trees, lavender and other climbers (like fragrant star jasmine).

Best plants you will ever get online

I have ordered plants from them twice this year. They arrived well packaged, on time and looked strong and healthy. I feel the staff from Roots plants deal with their plants and customers with passion and care. I can’t wait to order again, price is good as well.

Unlike other online sellers, this company are well ahead in the quality stakes. My plant arrived promptly as per their promise and the plant was much more established and healthy than I had expected. It’s the second time I have ordered from them and I have faith in their promise. Excellent service.

A really good quality tree, delivered on time and very well packaged. But the emailed planting advice and supporting information was what really impressed me. Thoroughly recommended.
