Description
- Bigger doesn't always equal better, but these hefty kiwis certainly don't mess around. Measuring up to seven centimetres long and five centimetres wide, 'Herma' kiwis give you quality, and plenty of it!
- A self-fertile variety, this cultivar doesn't require a pollination partner in order to bear its delicious fruit. Fast-growing and vigorous, you can expect more and more fruit as the plant establishes.
- Alongside the fuzzy fruits, 'Herma' also produces myriad subtly fragrant, creamy white flowers, adding real ornamental value alongside its edible appeal.
- Ideal for tying into an archway, arbour or pergola, this kiwi plant will cover its surface/support in less time than it takes to say "Wow, those kiwis are good!"
- Hardy enough to withstand most British winters, position your kiwi plant somewhere sunny and warm (training it up something like a wire trellis along a south-facing wall is perfect).

Generally a healthy plant but can be affected by honey fungus and root rot.
Water well when establishing
Water your kiwi plant regularly for the first couple of years to help it establish, and then during hot, dry spells thereafter.
Full sun
Plant somewhere your kiwi plant receives at least six hours of direct sunlight per day.
Any moist, well-drained soil
While your kiwi plant appreciates a good watering, it doesn't like waterlogged soil so make sure your soil is well-drained.
Feed in spring
Apply a high-potassium fertiliser at the start of spring.
