Acer palmatum 'Orangeola'
- A truly glorious variety of Japanese maple, 'Orangeola' dazzles with its colour-changing foliage, which emerges an orangey-scarlet, before turning crimson-green in summer, and then finally adopting bright reddish-orange hues in autumn.
- Growing to just three metres tall or so, this compact, mound-forming tree is well-suited to smaller gardens and patio growing in a large container.
- The finely dissected leaves offer a masterclass in elegance, their filigree form instantly elevating any space in which they're found.
- 'Orangeola' makes the perfect addition to Japanese-style, zen and woodland gardens, looking fabulous alongside bamboos, azaleas and ferns, to name just a few.
- A recipient of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, this acer variety has been shown to perform particularly well in British gardens.

Yes, Japanese Maple Tree is exceptionally well-suited to pot cultivation. A 40-50cm pot is ideal. It can thrive in a pot long-term. Ensure good drainage and protect roots from freezing temperatures below -5°C.

Acer palmatum 'Orangeola' is a weeping variety, reaching a height of 1.5 to 2 metres and a spread of 2 to 3 metres, although it can be maintained at a smaller size with regular pruning.

Japanese Maple Tree prefers moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil to thrive. Ensure the soil does not freeze below -5°C for optimal root health, applying a 5cm layer of mulch in winter.

Japanese Maple Tree requires regular watering, especially during its first few years of establishment. Provide approximately 10 to 20 litres of water per week, ensuring the soil remains moist but well-drained. During hot weather above 25°C, increase watering frequency to prevent the roots from drying out.
