Description
- One of the earliest trees to flower in spring, Cercis bursts into colour in April and keeps its large clusters of spectacular bright pink blooms right throughout May.
- The flowers are said to look like hummingbirds, with showy blooms tapering off into long, thin beak-like stems
- They're set amongst bright green, heart-shaped foliage that turns a gorgeous range of golden yellow and bronze tones in the autumn
- Cercis are fully hardy trees, happy in both full sun and partial shade, and will tolerate most soil types. Slow growing and compact, they're perfect for even small gardens
- Clusters of reddish purple flattened seed pods hang from the branches in autumn
- One of the few trees to grow flowers from its trunk, in a natural phenomenon known as Cauliflory
- Holds the RHS Plants for Pollinators award for its value to bees, butterflies and other insects

Judas trees are quite sensitive to the soil type. Plant in Chalky or limestone soil, but will grow better in rich, deep soil. Does not do well in acidic soil

Judas trees naturally take on a very elegant shape when it is left to grow without pruning, but you may choose to prune it so you can slow its growth or reshape it if needed. However, pruning isn't mandatory

How do I know I'm getting quality plants?
All of our plants are grown in specialist nurseries with the highest standards of plant care and sustainability. We guarantee you'll love them as much as we do! Don't just take our word for it - we've got thousands of great reviews on Trustpilot.
When will I get my plants?
The delivery timescale for each plant is on the web page (near the 'add to basket's button). You'll receive a dispatch email with an exact delivery date once your plants are on their way, so you can get the garden ready.
How will my plants be packed and delivered?
We send all of our orders through a courier network designed to handle plants. Specialist equipment ensures that no plants will be damaged during the packing process and every order is carefully finished and checked by plant-loving humans. Your plants will arrive in the most sustainable packaging possible with minimal to no plastic used.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver to anywhere in Mainland UK for our standard delivery cost. We are able to deliver most plants to Highlands and non UK mainland however this will be at an additional cost. This will be calculated at the checkout. Please note, deliveries to these locations will take longer. Unfortunately, we are not able to deliver to Northern Ireland at present.
