- A large evergreen tree with glossy, dark green foliage and beautifully fragrant, cup-shaped white flowers that can grow up to 25cm in diameter… Yes, you read that right!
- This slow-growing tree will grow to more than 12 metres over half a century if left unpruned, but can easily be kept in trim to fit a smaller space, making it a lovely specimen tree for a lawn, wall side bed or shrub border.
- Flowering throughout August and September, it is a fully hardy, four-season tree which likes a position in full sun (or partial shade) and thrives in any well-drained, fertile soil – even chalk.
- The bouquet of the blooms features refreshing, bold notes of lemon as well as subtler floral hints. Also known as the ‘bull bay’, Magnolia grandiflora is native to south-eastern parts of the USA, including Virginia, Florida and Texas.
- Low-maintenance and easy to grow, this tree is a great option for gardeners who want maximum impact from minimum effort.
