Patio Grape Vines Collection
- Our grower's top choices for growing on a patio in pots, these vines are perfect for covering a pergola, arch or fence with lush, twining foliage for summer shade and bunches of grapes within picking distance of your sun lounger!
- You will receive one Muscat Blue and one Phoenix grape vine. Phoenix is a reliable dual purpose white grape with a light Muscat aroma and flavour and Muscat Blue is one of the most reliable outdoor varieties, with tasty purple fruit. Both of these can be eaten straight from the vine
- Premium plants in 3L pots grown by fruit specialists in Herefordshire, professionally pruned and sent to you in sustainable packaging
- Growing your own gives you healthy, fresh produce with a lower carbon plantprint than anything you can buy from a shop
- Grow outdoors on a pergola or wall or indoors in a greenhouse or conservatory. Grape vines thrive in large pots (we recommend one pot per plant of around 40x40cm). They need plenty of sun to produce a good crop and will need some support. Check our individual plant pages for detailed growing instructions and measurements
- All of our grape varieties are chosen for their heavy cropping, reliability, taste and suitability for beginners. They've been specially bred for UK weather conditions

Will this grow in my garden?
Can I grow this in a pot?
Yes, Patio Grape can be cultivated in a large pot (at least 40 to 50 litres), but will require regular watering and a support structure.
How big does it get?
The varieties in the Patio Grape Vines Collection are vigorous climbers that can reach up to 4 metres in length.
How much sunlight does this need?
The Patio Grape Vines Collection needs full sun, requiring a minimum of 7 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily to ripen properly.
What kind of soil does this plant prefer?
The Patio Grape Vines Collection prefers deep, well-draining soil, and the roots should be planted at a depth of about 15 cm to protect them from winter temperatures dropping below 0°C.
How much watering does this plant need?
The Patio Grape Vines Collection needs deep watering about once a week, providing roughly 2.5 centimetres of water, especially during prolonged dry periods.
Will this plant need pruning?
Yes, the Patio Grape Vines Collection requires strict pruning in mid-winter to control its growth and ensure a good harvest.
How hardy is this plant?
The grape vines in this collection are generally hardy across most of the UK (RHS H4), tolerating temperatures down to -10°C. Because they are grown in pots, their roots are more exposed to freezing, so moving the containers to a sheltered spot or wrapping them during severe cold spells is advisable, especially in northern regions.
