Ninebark
Physocarpus opulifolius 'Diable D'Or'
- Bored of green foliage? You need this ninebark... An upright shrub with striking red, bronze and purple foliage that glints in the sun, 'Diable D'Or' provides incredible colour contrast to other plants within the garden.
- The varying colour shades glisten and gleam and provide a wonderful backdrop for the delightfully dainty white flower clusters that appear in the summer. These blooms are followed by small ornamental berries.
- In winter, this deciduous shrub continues to provide interest through its exfoliating bark, which peels away delightfully.
- Fully hardy, low-maintenance and easy to grow, there's really no reason why you wouldn't want to grow this exceptional plant!
- Did you know? The common name for physocarpus, ninebark, comes (as you might expect) from its bark, which is said to peel away in nine distinct layers.
