- Ficus carica 'Violette Dauphine' is an outstanding and highly productive fruit tree, renowned for yielding large, teardrop-shaped figs with beautiful reddish-purple skin and delectably sweet, pink flesh.
- The richly flavoured and deliciously sticky fruits are perfect for eating fresh straight from the branch, but they also make phenomenal additions to summer salads, cheeseboards, or homemade preserves.

In fact, restricting its root system in a container can actually encourage more prolific fruit production rather than excessive foliage growth. Ensure the pot has adequate drainage holes, and use a loam-based compost like John Innes No. 3 mixed with some grit for drainage. You will need to repot every couple of years as it grows.
