Alisma plantago-aquaticum
- A native of the British Isles, Alisma bears clouds of highly fragrant, long lasting flowers in delicate shades of lilac white and pastel pink
- This robust aquatic perennial has attractive long stalked, grey-green leaves with splashes of purple and will grow in standing water up to 30cm deep!
- Flowers from May to August
- A marginal plant that's great for adding depth, interest and colour to a pond or water garden
- Great for attracting wildlife including damselflies and dragonflies to your pond edges
- In folklore, this plant was known as Devil's Spoons and was thought to be a cure for rabies
