Description

  • We asked our expert fruit tree growers what they would recommend as the easiest three fruit trees anyone should be able to grow right here in the UK. John and Josh grow over 250,000 trees every year so they should know and this is what they picked:
  • The 'Discovery' apple tree is Josh's favourite. He says it's the easiest to grow, crops well and tastes super sweet. It's also a compact apple, perfect for smaller gardens, easier to maintain and easier to pick from.
  • 'Victoria' plum tree is recommended by John as "the best plum by quite some way". It produces bumper crops from an early age and the fruits are plump, tasty and ideal for making jams.
  • 'Brown Turkey' fig is by far and away the best fig to grow in the UK according to Josh. It is much more hardy and can be grown in a pot on a patio or even inside. You'll get reliable, fresh figs that taste so much better than shop bought. It's a compact tree which is easily manageable.
  • All three are RHS Award of Garden Merit winners, fully hardy and suitable for any size of garden
  • Apple and plum trees boast spectacular spring blossom and are highly beneficial to pollinators
  • Please see individual tree pages for sizes, harvest times and more
  • Our trees are professionally pruned before dispatching. This formative pruning can involve cutting the main leader, if the expert tree growers decide this will produce a better shaped tree. This can stop the tree becoming "leggy", and promote stronger, bushier growth.MORE
