Orchid Primrose
Primula vialii
- With its distinctive 'red-hot poker' flower buds, opening to a gorgeous lilac colour, the orchid primrose is one of the most distinctive, attractive perennials out there.
- Growing to under half a metre tall, this plant is perfect for the front of taller borders or the middle of shorter borders. It particularly flourishes in moist, dappled shade.
- The spear-shaped stems and flowers emerge from a lush backdrop of light green foliage, which really helps the blooms to pop.
- Hardy and easy to grow, this low-maintenance plant gets on with its flowering display and asks for very little in return. Just ensure it gets good moisture and it'll flourish!
- A recipient of the RHS's Award of Garden Merit, the orchid primrose has been shown to perform particularly well in British gardens.
