UK Hardy Pomegranate Bush
- An attractive multi-stemmed shrub, which can also be pruned to a single trunk if desired, the pomegranate bush makes a wonderful addition to any sunny garden.
- Fully hardy throughout the UK, you don’t need to worry about your plant surviving the winter – this bush sneers at the cold and scoffs at frost.
- Producing a good crop of large, red fruits in September and October, the fruits of this plant are full-to-bursting with delicious edible seeds which boast a fabulously zingy sweetness.
- The pomegranate plant bears glossy green, deciduous leaves (which first emerge with a bronzish tint) and vibrant, funnel-shaped flowers in spring and early summer. These flowers are usually red-orange in colour but can sometimes also be pink, white and even variegated!
- Ideal for growing in a sunny border near a wall, or a large container on the patio, you’ll be the talk of the allotment when you grow one of these Middle-Eastern sensations – you may need to fend off greedy neighbours looking to score a free pomegranate or two…
- Generally pest and disease free, pomegranate plants grow especially well under greenhouse glass, in a polytunnel or placed in your conservatory.
