- A classic deciduous hedge with silver bark and slender, drooping twigs
- Silver birch has shimmering white bark and oval leaves on elegant drooping branches, turning golden yellow in autumn. Catkins appear in the spring
- Plant as a single species or mixed wildlife-friendly hedge
- A fully hardy tree which will reach a height of up to 12m but can easily be maintained at lower heights as a hedge
- Low maintenance, frost proof and easy to grow even in exposed, windy areas

Water when newly planted
Water establishing plants during dry spells for at least a year after planting.
Full sun to partial shade
Position where the hedge will receive at least 4-6 hours of sunlight every day during summer and spring. This variety can handle partial shade where it receives its light as dappled shade.
Any well drained, fertile soil
Will tolerate less than perfect conditions but prefers well drained, loamy soils. If your soil is heavy or sandy, mix in some perlite or fine horticultural grit when planting, to improve drainage.
