Description
- Most people know rowan trees for their bright red or orange berries. But what if we told you about a rowan with snow white berries? 'White Wax' is the (not-so-inventively-named) tree that does just that.
- From late summer well into winter, the tree is wreathed in satin white berries, held against a backdrop of lush green foliage.
- A strong contender for 'tree with the best autumn colour', 'White Wax' foliage takes on an inferno of fiery hues (red, orange and bronze).
- An incredibly easy tree to grow, this rowan has significant wildlife interest, including birds (blackbirds, thrushes and redwings), insects (bees, hoverflies and beetles) and small mammals (mice, voles and squirrels).
- Did you know? Rowan trees have a long history, having traditionally been used to help ward off witches!

Water well when establishing
Water your rowan tree regularly for the first couple of growing seasons to help it establish. Thereafter, water during hot, dry spells.
Full sun to partial shade
Plant somewhere where your tree receives at least three hours of direct sunlight per day.
Any moist, well-drained soil
Grows best in nice, loamy soil with good levels of moisture and fertility (and ample drainage).
Feed in spring
Apply a general-purpose, slow-release fertiliser at the start of spring.
