How To Grow

Good Pest and Disease Resistance

Geums can have issues with Powdery Mildew and Leaf Miners. To protect against Leaf Miners monitor the plant closely. If you notice any signs of mines in your leaves them quickly squeeze the areas and this can crush the larvae. You may want to remove the leaf entirely to get rid of the pest. You can purchase stick tape and specific parasitic wasps to also combat against the pest if you have an infestation. To prevent Powdery Mildew you should try to prevent crowded and humid conditions. Properly space plants apart and get rid of any weeds. Water at the soil and try to prevent soil splashing from the soil onto the leaves.MORE

Full Sun

Plant somewhere the plant will receive 6-8 hours of direct sunlight every day.

Average, Well-Drained Soil

Geums need well-drained soils. If you soil is clay-heavy you may want to improve drainage by adding organic matter such as compost, as well as perlite or gravel.

Prune Regularly

Deadhead spent flowers to promote new and continuous blooms. In Autumn cut the plant back to near the base so the plant can growth fresh foliage the following year.
