Sollya has a twining habit and trails naturally, although it can equally well be encouraged to climb up a suitable supporting framework


Half Hardy
Frost Hardy up to -5ºC. In colder regions you may want to protect the plant by putting it in a sheltered south-facing location. You can also grow the plant in a potand move it indoors during the winter for maximum protection.

Excellent Pest and Disease Resistance

Rarely has any troubles with disease or pests. It can have issues with Red Spider Mites when grown indoors. You can get rid of Red Spider Mites by misting the leaves with water a couple of times a wee.MORE

Water Regularly

Water the plant regularly during the summer, especially during hot and dry periods and especially if you are container-growing the plant. During the winter the plant will need significantly less watering and ymay only require a watering once every week to two weeks.MORE

Full Sun to Partial Shade

You will want to plant somewhere the plant will receive at least 4-6 hours of sunlight everyday during summer and spring. This variety can handled some partial shade where it receives its light as dappled shade.MORE

Fertile, Well-Drained Soil

If your soil is particularly clay heavy and gets waterlogged often, make sure you mix in plenty of organic matter and perhaps even gravel or perlite to help improve drainage.MORE

Feed regularly during the growing season using a balanced liquid feed every 2-3 weeks.MORE
