Know Your Plant

Supplied as:

3 bare root plants
These plants are supplied as “bare roots” meaning that the roots are established below the ground but not actively growing (dormant) between November and March. As bare roots are stored without any soil or pot, they will easily settle themselves when in contact with soil in your garden. Care Guide

Excellent pest and disease resistance

Has been bred for excellent disease resistance. Your biggest problem, as with most soft fruit, is that they are so delicious that local wildlife will want to eat them too. Grow in a polytunnel, or use a fruit net to keep birds off.

Water during dry spells

Watering your Gooseberry plants is rarely required except during dry spells - water every 14 days

Full sun to partial shade

Position where the plants will receive at least 4-6 hours of sunlight daily in spring/summer.

Fertile, well-drained soil

Loam or sandy soil is perfect. You should also consider digging in some organic matter/ compost when planting to improve the soil.

No need to feed

No feeding needed. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0513/3428/3424/files/pruning_3x_4d3eaf73-f629-45e0-87a5-6f14f5f005fc.png?v=1613300718
