- Aralia elata or Japanese Angelica is a small deciduous tree, notable for its architectural foliage and late summer flowers.
- Deltoid leaves off long branches and plumes of white florets in the summer followed by small purple berries.
- On small thin trunks this species can reach 8m high, but responds well to pruning that acts to increase the size of the existing leaves.
- Can be grown as a large spreading tree or
