- A native plant with dark, pine green foliage and small white flowers
- One of the oldest cultivated leaf vegetables, it can be eaten if grown in a known clean water source or container
- Flowers from June to August
- Compact shallow water plant perfect for planting in pond margins up to a depth of 10cm below water
- Can be grown in containers and micro ponds as a useful filter plant
- Forms large rafts of floating and submerged foliage which is an ideal habitat for fish and other pond wildlife
