  • Ideal for smaller gardens at just 4-5m tall
  • Attracts birds, bees and butterflies to your garden
  • RHS Award of Garden Merit

Description

  • This award winning rowan tree is beautifully compact and perfect for the smaller garden, providing colour and wildlife appeal in every season, with mid green leaves that turn to glowing shads of orange and ruby red in autumn
  • Unique copper coloured fruit which turns to golden yellow as it matures (if the birds leave it alone, that is!)
  • Creamy white clusters of blossom provide nectar for bees, butterflies and other pollinators, while the berries will attract birds to your garden and provide them with a valuable food source over the winter
  • Compact size - 4-5 x 2m - can easily be pruned to fit any size of garden. Pruning should be done in the dormant season if needed
  • Fuly hardy, low maintenance and tolerant of pollution - a great choice for a city garden, wildlife sanctuary or roadside
  • RHS Award of Garden Merit winner for outstanding garden performance

How To Grow

High Disease Resistance / Average Pest Resistance

Not prone to many diseases in cold regions but prone to fire blight in warm areas. Prune away affected branches if this happens.

Water during dry spells

Watering is only needed in long droughts. You can also water thoroughly during spring to ensure rapid growth during summer months.

Full Sun or partly shaded

Sorbus trees aren't too picky about their position - they will grow in open, sunny sites (6h+) or partial shade(3-6h).

Happy in most soils

Prefers well drained, acidic soils

Feed annually

After planting your tree add some fertiliser and cover with mulch to ensure all the water and nutrients get to the roots. Over time, replace the mulch and feed the tree with slow release fertiliser annually to help the plant maintain its growth and create a beautiful display of bloom which you've been waiting for.
