Description

  • Inject a vibrant burst of sugar-sweet colour into your beds and borders with 'SunSeekers Pomegranate', an echinacea that brings the good vibes in abundance
  • Its flowers comprise red-pink petals encircling an alluring burgundy cone, which contrast brilliantly with the bush of broad, lanceolate foliage
  • Plant as part of a mixed perennial border, or why not dedicate an entire bed to conflowers from the SunSeekers series? This variety would pair wonderfully with other fun and colourful varieties, like 'Bubblelicious' and 'Tequila Sunrise'
  • Coneflowers are known for attracting pollinators, so if you're looking to improve your garden's wildlife presence, they're a safe bet
  • The sturdy stems of this plant are ideal for cutting and the blooms make for a genuinely smile-inducing bouquet
  • With an H5 hardiness rating, this plant is tough and will easily survive most British winters with just an autumn prune and a good layer of mulch applied around the base

How To Grow

Excellent pest and disease resistance

Not typically affected by pests or disease.

Water well when establishing

Echinacea plants require regular watering for their first 12 months as they establish and bed in. Beyond this, however, they're fairly drought-tolerant and will only tend to need watering in especially hot or dry spells.

Full sun

Plant in a fully sunny spot where your plant will receive at least 8 hours of direct sunlight per day.

Any fertile, well-drained soil

Typically grows nicely in any well-drained soil. If you find that your soil is particularly clay-heavy, incorporate some garden compost with perlite to improve its drainage capabilities.

Feed in winter

Evenly spread a mulch of rich compost or well-rotted manure over your echinacea each winter.
