Care Guide
Excellent Pest and Disease Resistance
Generally pest free. Can have some issues with Downy Mildew if conditions are damp. To prevent Downy Mildew you should try to prevent crowded and humid conditions. Properly space plants apart and get rid of any weeds. Water at the soil and try to prevent soil splashing from the soil onto the leaves.MORE
Water Often
Water several times a week during hot and dry periods to keep the ground evenly moist. During the non-summer months the rain should provide enough water for the plant, especially after it has established itself after its first year.
Full Sun
Plant somewhere the plant will receive 6-8 hours of direct sunlight every day.
Fertile, Well-Drained Soil
You will want to mix in plenty of organic matter such as garden compost into the soil before planting. If your soil is particularly clay-heavy and easily becomes waterlogged, add some perlite or gravel into the soil to improve drainage.
