- Dahlia 'Cabernet' is to the eyes what a full-bodied glass of red is to the palate - big, bold and utterly beautiful
- A variety that falls somewhere between a cactus dahlia and a waterlily dahlia in terms of its form, this plant features fully double blooms with enticing red, pointed petals, which bloom from summer and well into autumn
- With its slender, upright stems and undeniably impactful blooms, this variety is a fantastic option when it comes to bouquet cutting
- Either plant this dahlia on its lonesome in a large container, and let it shine as the star of the patio, or plant alongside yellow dahlia varieties for a striking pairing reminiscent of colour schemes from the '70s
- If you're worried your dahlia is on the verge of flopping, tie it in to a bamboo cane using some garden twine
- Unless you live in a particularly mild area, you'll need to lift and store your dahlia tubers for the winter, then replant them in spring
