'Red Glow' Crabapple Tree
- Crabapple trees rank among the most delightful ornamental trees, right up there with cherry blossoms and ornamental pears. We're happy to report that 'Red Glow' lives up to that reputation (and then some).
- Sporting fabulous pink-purple blossoms in spring, these are held against a backdrop of lush burgundy-tinged green foliage, while sizeable edible fruits appear throughout the autumn.
- Typically growing to just a few metres tall, 'Howgate Wonder' works beautifully in smaller gardens as a dedicated feature tree.
- If you can get to the large reddish-purple fruits before the birds do, which admittedly can be tricky, then you can use them to make a delicious crabapple jelly.
- Conferred with RHS Plants for Pollinators status, you can rely on 'Red Glow' to attract plenty of beneficial pollinating insects (such as bees and butterflies) to your garden.
