- A compact medlar whose superior flavour and ability to be eaten raw elevates it over other varieties, ‘Royal’ is a truly majestic tree!
- With a relatively diminutive habit, this medlar is suitable for smaller gardens and can even be grown in a large container.
- Alongside the fabulous fruits, ‘Royal’ also sports lovely white flowers as well as attractive foliage shades of gold and orange come autumn.
- A self-fertile tree, you only need one of these medlars in order to produce fruit, which you can ‘blet’ in order to make scrumptious jams and jellies.
- Medlars are part of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Plants for Pollinators group, indicating its benefits to pollinating insects like bees and butterflies.
