- There are heavy cropping plants... and then there's Waverex! This plant produces an abundance of crunchy pods, with each housing multiple super sweet peas
- This dwarf, heirloom variety produces ready-to-harvest peas between the months of June and September
- This compact, semi-bushy plant can be grown in containers and is perfect for those gardeners limited on space
- Its diminutive stature (when compared with many pea plants) means that it can often be grown without supports - some minimal staking might be required if you notice the plant start to lose its upright position

How To Grow
Good pest and disease resistance
The three main issues affecting pea plants are pea moth, pea leaf weevil and powdery mildew. To prevent the pests you can cover your plants in a fine horticultural fleece. To prevent powdery mildew you should try and keep the plant dry and maintain good garden hygiene.
Water regularly
Peas need to be watered regularly so that the soil doesn't dry out. On hot summer days they'll need to be watered every day. If you are unsure, simply touch the soil and if it is dry to the touch a fingernail deep then give the plant some water. Until summer the UK rain should take care of the water your pea plants will need - you might even have to be careful the ground does not become waterlogged.
Full sun
Pea plants prefer a position in full sun. Plant them where they will receive around 6-8 hours of direct sunlight every day.
Any Fertile, Well-Draining Soil Except Acid
Pea plants need fertile, well-draining soil. A good mix of three parts quality compost and one part topsoil works well. Peas in particular do not cope well in waterlogged soil so ensure there is adequate drainage, especially if your soil is clay-heavy. If possible, add a layer of well-rotted manure to the soil in the previous autumn and allow that to mix in to add nutrients and also improve the soil's texture.
Feed regularly
Pea plants are hungry and will need regular feeding. Once they have started flowering then you should promote pod growth by giving the plants a weekly feeding of a high-potash fertiliser such as organic liquid tomato feed. Potash, or potassium, is one of the three main elements in fertilisers along with nitrogen and phosphorus. Potash in particular supports growth of flowers and fruit and so this feed is often increased as the fruits or flowers are beginning to form.

How do I know I'm getting quality plants?

When will I get my plants?
The delivery timescale for each plant is on the web page (near the 'add to basket's button). You'll receive a dispatch email with an exact delivery date once your plants are on their way, so you can get the garden ready.
How will my plants be packed and delivered?
We send all of our orders through a courier network designed to handle plants. Specialist equipment ensures that no plants will be damaged during the packing process and every order is carefully finished and checked by plant-loving humans. Your plants will arrive in the most sustainable packaging possible with minimal to no plastic used.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver to anywhere in Mainland UK for our standard delivery cost. We are able to deliver most plants to Highlands and non UK mainland however this will be at an additional cost. This will be calculated at the checkout. Please note, deliveries to these locations will take longer. Unfortunately, we are not able to deliver to Northern Ireland at present.

Excellent delivery and service
Well, the delivery was spot on, the tree looks healthy enough for a sleeping plant, although at the moment most of the branches are on one side of the trunk which in itself is bent banana-style. quite wonky. One can only hope that it grows into a fruitful plant with some character?

Nice sized tree in good condition
Time will tell on the quality of the product (bare-root apple trees), but the stems that arrived seemed in great condition and very well packaged so no damage in transit. Looking forward to Spring!
