- This striking, low maintenance perennial gives you highly scented clusters of fluffy white flowers, contrasted with slender black stems. The flowers open from lilac-tinged buds and the foliage is purple-black
- Late summer- early autumn flowering, from August to October - extends your garden's flowering season
- Extremely easy to look after - Actaea is fully hardy, drought tolerant once established and unaffected by pests and diseases
- Plant in a cottage garden border, wildlife garden or woodland garden

Usually unbothered by any pests or diseases
Water when newly planted
Water in well when newly planted and water young plants during dry spells for at least a year after planting. After this they should be drought tolerant.

Plant in a sheltered spot with light shade for most of the day
Any moist, well-drained soil
Mix in plenty of organic matter such as garden compost into the soil before planting and more every spring. If your soil is particularly clay-heavy and easily becomes waterlogged, add some perlite into the soil to improve drainage.
