Care Guide

Good Pest and Disease Resistance

Borage can suffer from slug, snail and caterpillar damage as well as powdery mildew. For Slugs and Snails, it is important to keep the area around the plant debris free and as dry as possible, especially at night as slugs and snails love damp conditions. You can use barriers such as egg shells or copper wire to surround the plant to prevent slugs and snails reaching the leaves. For Caterpillars, check the leaves regularly for them as well as for the eggs. Pick off any Caterpillars when you see them and then drown the infested area with soapy water. For Powdery Mildew, try to keep the leaves dry by watering at the soil and preventing water splashing up from the soil. MORE
