Care Guide
Good Pest and Disease Resistance
Leucanthemums have few problems with pests and diseases. It can, however, have issues with Aphids. To combat aphids you can pick away the bugs with your hands and also wash the infested areas down with soapy water.MORE
Water often in Summer
During hot and prolonged dry periods, as well as the plant's first year, it is important to ensure that the ground is kept consistently moist. This can require watering several times a week or perhaps even daily during very hot spells. Once the plant has established itself it will become more drought tolerant but still the ground should not be allowed to dry up too much for too long.
Full Sun
Plant somewhere the plant will receive 6-8 hours of direct sunlight every day.
Fertile, Well-Drained Soil
You will want to mix in plenty of organic matter such as garden compost into the soil before planting and more every spring. If your soil is particularly clay-heavy and easily becomes waterlogged, add some perlite into the soil to improve drainage.
Feed lightly
Feed with a slow-release general fertiliser in the Spring to improve plant vigour and blooms.
