How To Grow

Excellent pest and disease resistance

Generally pest and disease free

Water regularly when new

Water regularly for the first year - after this, water only in hot dry weather

Partial to full shade

Carex does best in a sheltered spot in the dappled shade filtered through trees

Any fertile, well-drained soil

Carex prefers fertile, well-drained soil but will be fine in any normal well-drained soil. If your soil is particularly poor or clay heavy, add some garden compost with perlite to improve drainage.

Feeding not required

This plant doesn't need feeding - you could add some mulch after pruning if desired.
